Old becomes new again HB 225 an expansion of Federal Peace Officer Status in Kentucky will be heard in the House Public Protection Committee on 2/15/2017. This is something we defeated in Norm Davis’ day and hadn’t seen much traction in quite some time, but some are trying to see if it will stick to the wall again. This bill will grant Mint Police Peace Officer Status in Kentucky without having to go through your local sheriff. Do we really need more Federal Agents running around with less check on their authority here in Kentucky.

Call Frankfort (1-800-372-7181) and let All House Leadership, YOUR Representative and Public Protection Committee Members know you are opposed to expanding Federal Policing Powers in Kentucky.

Will call and encourage others to know and understand the threats these bills put upon our freedoms. 10th Amendment is alive and well in KY. We the People will keep it that way. STOP REAL ID HB 77

  2. Will says:

A link to the lrc text would be helpful.

  3. Bruce says:

The LRC Message Center didn’t know who the Public Protection Committee was. Instead, leave a message for the Veterans, Military Affairs, and Public Protection Committee. They should have been able to find the correct committee, and eventually did, but apparently they have a choice of many committees listed alphabetically and looking under P when the committee is listed under V causes them some consternation.

I told them NO on HB225 with the added message “Less federal police in Kentucky, not more.”

  4. David says:

I call to voice my opposition to this bill !

  5. Robert says:

OK, what is a “Mint” police officer?
